Out of whack

Sorry for the delay in posting.  Holiday weekends always throw me out of whack with my schedule.  Add into that the fact that we got slammed with orders over the weekend and the boss has been gone for half the day each day this week, and I am running almost non-stop.

Just wanted to throw this out there, probably more me being a dick, but i thought the other guy was as well, so there is that.  I am a firm believer of a phrase Ronnie Reagan used, Trust but Verify.  I do this with my kids, at work and in life.  While driving and just generally being outside, sometimes you just have to have faith that the ‘other guy’ is going to uphold their end of the social contract to stop at a stop sign and so on.  When walking across a street or in a parking lot I especially like to use the trust but verify and make sure to look at traffic to make SURE they are going to stop. It annoys me to no end when people walk into traffic without even looking up, trusting totally that the other guy is going to stop.  So today I had to make a few deliveries this morning.  This younger kid was walking with his head down, headphones on and not looking around at all entered a crosswalk in front of me.  So as I approached the intersection in my work van, I slammed on the brakes, causing the tires to skreetch, or whatever you call that noise.  I was barely moving but made the sound on purpose.  The previously mentioned kid jumped about 2 feet in the air, fumbled his phone and then glared at me as he continued on.  I just smiled.  I hope  he shit his pants for a moment or something.  Look up once in a while. trust, but verify.  You never know when the coming driver is also buried head deep into his phone, and you will lose.

Will post more later in the week.
